Originally from Virginia, Dr. Simona Zduoba (Dr. Z) made the big move to Alaska in October 2024 and has been loving life in the Last Frontier ever since. A 2022 veterinary graduate, she can’t quite say what drew her to veterinary medicine—she just knew she couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Dr. Z enjoys the variety that mixed animal practice brings, with a special interest in small ruminants, large animals, and wildlife. She’s always working to grow her skills, with ultrasound expertise next on her professional bucket list.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll likely find her hiking, playing volleyball, baking up something tasty, or dabbling in a crochet project. She’s also a proud professional in all things Christmas and a devoted Hallmark movie channel fan.

At home, Dr. Z is kept company by Charlotte Ruth Anne—affectionately known as Charliepoops, Charliebugs, or “Charles” when she's in trouble—a lovable retriever/collie mix with plenty of personality.

Dr. Z brings curiosity, compassion, and a love for all creatures to every patient she sees and is excited to serve animals and their people across Alaska.
